Spent 3 days of the autumn holiday at the island Kosteröarna with my friends Anton Kvarnbäck and Elisabeth Lööf. We had focus on birding and we succeeded to see 81 (!) birds just during these days at Sydkoster, where we could use my grandparents house, and also at Nordkoster where it´s the best spot for seabirds. 

On the way to Kosteröarna we saw 2 parasitic jaegers(kustlabb) as they were following the boat during a minute, very cool beginning of the trip.

Next day we woke up at 5 am to get in time with the first boat over to Nordkoster. Walked in almost complete darker we were heading to one of the best spots to find seabirds, Skumbuktarna. In that moment we didn´t know this would be a day with lots of rare birds. Just as we could see through the binoculars the first kitiwakes could be seen over the ocean and later on the first little auks(alkekung) was flying on their way to southern parts, unfortunately I missed this little auks as I was photographing landscape at the moment, and it was just Anton that saw them. Don´t know what Elisabeth was looking at...
Later on during the morning we saw yellow billed loon(vitnäbbad islom 1ad), 3 atlantic puffins (lunnefågel), 8 pomarine skua(bredstjärtad labb), 1 long eared owl(hornuggla),  1 peregrine falcon(pilgrimsfalk) and much more just at Skumbuktarna.  

Then we moved on to a place called Valnäs tjärne. Here we could find twite(vinterhämpling) and also credits to Anton, the only one of us that was wearing water proof boots and bumped through a wet area were a jack snipe(dvärgbeckasin) could be found, another nice bird.
Otherwise it was not many birds at Valnäs.

Then we walked to Hasslevikarna, where we all heard a weird noise, it was a flock of goose that we didn´t see at the moment but we all understod this must be many pink footed goose (spetsbergsgås) that we heard. Then as we run closer to get a better view soon a flock of 250 pink footed goose could be seen flying against us, impressive view!

Day 2 were spent at Sydkoster. We got up in time to get to the sunrise at Kilesand, drive a golf cart was very conveniently early in the morning before the legs had wake up... This morning there were no wind at all and the sun rose over the horizon with fog over the bays, wonderful morning! We all picked up our cameras and photographed more than birding. Later we were at Brevik, not that many rare birds, but 3 velvet scooters(svärta) and 1 snow bunting(snösparv). Here are some of the pictures from Brevik.

We also had a short visit at Långevik where we found a black redstart (svart rödstjärt) which is a rare bird in the north parts of Bohuslän. 

After a much needed lunch, of course meatballs we biked to Ekenäs, looking for gulls. But it was completely empty of gulls, so we visited the Naturrum instead. 

Then we biked to Rörvik, it was no wind at all, sunny and quite warm. Didn´t felt as it was the end of october when we was there, I can honestly say I could have wear t-shirt and shorts there without freezing.

Next day we went to Nord-Koster again, but this time not that windy as the last time. But to my and Elisabeths happiness there was a little auk (alkekung) at Basteviken, because we both missed the other ones at Skumbuktarna. At the same time I heard a noise that sounded like snow buntings, and a bit later 5 snow buntings landed in front of us, but unfortunately they flew away when I tried to get closer and get any pictures. At Valnäs a late golden plover (ljungpipare) could be found.

The last day we were fishing lobster at Rossö, the place where Anton live. We got 3 lobsters and also a close encounter with a little auk from the boat.
